Inar Treiguts makes his first appearance with the U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team. Treiguts previously worked with Team USA at the 2005 and 2008 International Ice Hockey Federation Men’s World Championship.
Currently, Treiguts is a massage therapist with the National Hockey League’s Detroit Red Wings, a position he’s held since the 2011-12 season.
Prior to joining Detroit, Treiguts performed that same role with the NHL’s Atlanta Thrashers from team’s inaugural season in 1999-2000 until the franchise relocated to Winnipeg, Man., following the 2010-11 campaign.
The native of Latvia spent one year at Spa Sydell in Atlanta before joining the Thrashers. Additionally, he served as massage therapist for the Latvian National Volleyball Team from September 1988 to May 1991 and has also worked for Body Works in Santa Monica, Calif., Cal-Med Clinic in Los Angeles and in private practice in Knoxville, Tenn.
Treiguts resides in Royal Oak, Mich.
